If alooola sent you a temporary password

Your account has already been established, so please sign in rather than registering. Creating an account here results in a second, empty account with no connection to the assets we manage for you.

Signing in for the first time →

This page covers establishing an alooola account yourself. It takes about five minutes. You will need your phone, an email address, and your Social Security number, the same details any brokerage asks for.

Step by step

  1. Create your login

Enter your phone number and we text you a six-digit code. Confirm it, then choose an email address and a password. If someone referred you, there is a referral code field on the same screen.

  2. Tell us what you do

Pick your industry, your role, and your career stage. These answers shape the guidance you receive, so please answer accurately.

  3. Check your 401(k)

We look up whether your employer offers a plan we can connect. You can do this now or skip it and come back. See Connect your 401(k).

  4. Open an investment account

Choose Individual, Traditional IRA, or Roth IRA, then give us your name, date of birth, address, and employment status. We verify your identity with our clearing partner, Apex Clearing.

  5. Answer a few questions

A short set about your timeline, your experience, and how you would react to a drop in the market. We recommend an allocation from your answers. Accept it, or adjust it. You can change it any time afterwards.

  6. Review the disclosures

The advisory fee, what you are agreeing to, and the required documents, all presented before you confirm. Please review them.

  7. Link a bank

Connect a bank through Plaid so you can fund the account. Full walkthrough: Link a bank.

Which account should I open?

AccountBest forNotes
IndividualGeneral investingNo contribution limit, no withdrawal restrictions
JointInvesting with a spouse or partnerBoth people own it; opened by invitation
Traditional IRARetirement, tax-deferredContributions may be deductible; taxed on withdrawal
Roth IRARetirement, tax-free growthContributions are after-tax; income limits apply

If you are undecided, an Individual account is a reasonable starting point. A retirement account can be added later from the same profile, and you may hold both.

note

IRAs are subject to IRS contribution limits and withdrawal rules. We show the relevant limits in the app before you contribute.

After setup

Your account is open as soon as identity verification clears, usually immediately. Next:

  1. Link a bank account so you can move money
  2. Make your first deposit
  3. Add your beneficiaries
  4. Invite a spouse if you want them to see the account

If you encounter a problem

  • The code never arrived. Check the number you entered, then tap resend. Carrier delivery can take a minute.
  • Identity verification failed. Usually a mismatched address or a typo in the Social Security number. Please contact us and we will resolve it.
  • You already have an account. Use Forgot password rather than signing up again.
