Security & privacy
Your account
- Encryption in transit and at rest, at industry standard
- Verification codes before any money moves, and when you sign in from a new device
- Face ID / Touch ID on supported devices, so you are not typing a password in public
- Continuous monitoring for unusual activity
Your credentials at your bank
When you link a bank, you sign in on your bank's own screen inside Plaid. Your banking username and password go to your bank. alooola never sees them and never stores them.
Your money
Your investments are held at Apex Clearing, our clearing firm, not by alooola directly. Apex is a member of FINRA and SIPC.
SIPC protects securities customers of its members up to $500,000, including $250,000 for claims for cash. SIPC coverage protects against the failure of a brokerage firm. It does not protect against a loss in the market value of your investments.
What we do with your information
- We do not sell your personal information
- We share it with the service providers who make the account work: our clearing firm, our identity verification provider, and Plaid. No further
- Our full privacy pledge and Form ADV are linked from the app under Profile → Privacy Policy
Keeping your account safe
- Use a password you use nowhere else, and a password manager to hold it
- Turn on biometric sign-in
- Keep your phone number current, so verification codes reach you
- Name a trusted contact so we have someone to reach if we cannot reach you
What alooola will never do
We will never ask you for your password, and we will never ask you to move money to "protect" it. If a message claiming to be from alooola asks for either, it is not from us.
Forward anything suspicious to support@alooola.com and do not click the links.
If you think your account is compromised
- Change your password from the app immediately
- Email support@alooola.com or call 484-275-5525
- Tell us what you saw and when, which helps us trace it
We would rather look at ten false alarms than miss one real one.
